FAQs

What types of lessons do you offer?

I offer both in-person and online violin lessons to fit your schedule and needs. Lessons are available in 30-minute, 45-minute, and 60-minute intervals.

  • 30-minute lessons – Perfect for young beginners with shorter attention spans.

  • 45-minute lessons – Recommended for most beginners.

  • 60-minute lessons – Ideal for intermediate and advanced students who want deeper instruction.

Which teaching methods do you use?

I teach using both the Suzuki and Galamian methods, tailoring the approach to each student’s level and goals. The Suzuki and Galamian methods are two distinct approaches to learning an instrument, primarily the violin, differing in philosophy, age of students, involvement of parents, and focus of instruction.

  • Suzuki Method – Best for beginners and young students. Based on the "mother-tongue" approach, it emphasizes learning by listening, repetition, and parent involvement.

  • Galamian Method – A traditional, structured approach, focused on technical precision, problem-solving, and musical independence. This method works especially well for intermediate and advanced violinists.

Many beginners start with Suzuki, and as they grow, I often integrate Galamian techniques to build a strong technical foundation.

How do I know which method is right for me or my child?

During the trial lesson(s), I’ll evaluate your goals, age, and musical background, then recommend the method—or combination—that will help you progress most effectively.

What ages do you teach?

I teach students of all ages, starting as young as 4 years old, as well as adults of any level.

Do I need prior experience to start?

Not at all! I welcome both complete beginners and experienced violinists who want to refine their technique or artistry at any age.
👉 The only prerequisite is that students should already know how to
read basic music notation before starting violin lessons.

What do I need for online lessons?

Online lessons are generally not recommended for complete beginners under the age of 9. They are best suited for students who already have a basic understanding of the violin. For online violin lessons, you’ll need:

  • A violin that fits the student properly

  • A music stand

  • A stable internet connection

  • A computer, tablet, or smartphone with Zoom (or Google Meet)
